• There was a reception on Sunday evening, January 2nd in honor of the 2005 recipients of the Willis E. Lamb Award for Laser Science and Quantum Optics. This year's winners were: Gérard Mourou of the University of Michigan and LOA ENSTA/ Ecole Polytechnique France, Szymon Suckewer of Princeton University, and Sune Svanberg of the University of Lund, Sweden.
