• There was a reception on Tuesday evening, January 2nd in honor of the 2007 recipients of the Willis E. Lamb Award for Laser Science and Quantum Optics. This year's winners were Hans Frauenfelder of Los Alamos National Laboratory, Moshe Shapiro of the University of British Colombia and the Weizmann Institute, and Sunney Xie of Harvard University.
