• There was a reception on Sunday evening, January 4th in honor of the 2009 recipients of the Willis E. Lamb Award for Laser Science and Quantum Optics. This year's winners were: Robert W. Boyd of The University of Rochester, Robert L. Byer of Stanford University, and Norbert Kroó of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
