• There was a reception on Sunday evening, January 3rd in honor of the 2010 recipients of the Willis E. Lamb Award for Laser Science and Quantum Optics. This year's winners were: John B. Pendry of Imperial College London, Vladimir M. Shalaev of Purdue University, and Aleksei M. Zheltikov of the Lomonosov Moscow State University.
