Welcome to the 55th Winter Colloquium on the Physics of Quantum Electronics (PQE) !

The conference will be held on January 6-10, 2025,  Snowbird, UT.

The welcome reception is on January 5th, 6:00pm at the Golden Cliff reception room.

The Skiing is expected to be great, and the physics will be uniformly great!

The Winter Colloquium on the Physics of Quantum Electronics, known as PQE is an annual physics conference that attracts the world's experts in laser physics, quantum physics, and many other areas. January 2025 marks the 55th winter meeting.

PQE is held at Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort. All events take place in the Cliff Lodge at Snowbird. Snowbird is in Little Cottonwood Canyon, in the Wasatch Mountains near Salt Lake City, Utah, in the United States.

  • All talks are by invitation only.

  • The posters submission deadline is December 1st.

  • Check in will be open January 5th at 5:00PM in front of the Golden Cliff reception room.

  • The conference is self-supported and all participants are expected to pay the registration fee.  The regular registration fee is $595. It will be increased to $675 on January 5th.

  • PQE is organized and paid for by Physics of Quantum Electronics, LLC

Vanderlei Bagnato

University of São Paulo, Brazil and Texas A&M

For the pioneering work in BEC turbulence and laser applications in the treatment of cancer.

Carmen Menoni

Colorado State University

For groundbreaking research in amorphous oxide coatings for laser science and for advancing applications of soft x-ray lasers.

Carmen Menoni
Da-Wei Wang

Da-Wei Wang

Zhejiang University, China

For opening new research directions at the interface between quantum optics and condensed matter physics and for leading their experimental exploration, including superradiance lattices and topological states of quantized light.

The Willis E. Lamb Award for Laser Science and Quantum Optics is presented annually for outstanding contributions to the field. The award honors Willis E. Lamb, Jr., famous laser scientist and 1955 winner of the Nobel Prize in physics, who gave us many seminal insights and served as our guide in so many areas of physics and technology.  Previous winners of the award are listed at LambAward.Com.
